Practices of Anti-subsidy investigation by India

India started an anti-subsidy investigation in 2009. In recent years, there has seen a spike in the number of anti-subsidy investigations with 10 cases in 2018 and 9 and 7 cases in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

Countries subject to the most anti-subsidy measures by India

 

China, Malaysia and Vietnam are the three countries with the most anti-subsidy investigations by India, accounting for 31%, 34% and 14% of the total number of anti-subsidy investigations initiated by India, respectively.

Product groups subject to the most anti-subsidy measures by India

 

In anti-subsidy investigations, base metal was the product subject to the most anti-subsidy duties in India (accounting for 62% of total cases), followed by Products of the chemical and allied industries (accounting for 15%).
