The research paper entitled “Overview of Trade Remedies” was developed with the objective of systematizing the key theoretical and practical issues relating to trade remedies in international trade and in Vietnam. The paper focuses on clarifying the history and significance of trade remedy measures; analyzing the characteristics and conditions for the application of each type of measure; presenting the international legal framework as well as the laws and regulations of Vietnam and several countries and territories that frequently apply such measures; and assessing the practice and trends in trade remedy investigations and applications worldwide and with respect to Vietnamese exports. On that basis, the paper proposes several recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of the use of and response to trade remedy measures in the coming period.
