European Commission delays vote on anti-dumping tariffs for Chinese glass fibre imports

The European Commission has delayed its decision on whether to impose anti-dumping tariffs on glass fibre imports from China. Originally, EU 27 member states representatives were supposed to cast their vote in writing on the proposed measures on 11 August. The date has now been moved to 26 August, when a hearing is to take place. According to the European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA, Brussels / Belgium; www.eucia.org), the delay was in part caused by industry efforts to prevent “the devastating impact” of such measures.

India re launches AD investigation on Chinese CR stainless steel

Reporters from Mysteel learnt that India announced on August 16th 2010 to launch an anti dumping investigation on cold rolled flat products of stainless steel of 200 series, all the austenitic stainless steel with width below 600mm (nickel content below 6%) from China, UAE and US. That is the 7th AD cases launched by India in 2010.
Malaysia: Decision on antidumping duties postponed

In July, South Korea announced that a decision had been taken to impose antidumping duties on Malaysian plywood imports. However, on 2 August 2010, the Ministry of Finance and Strategy of the Republic of Korea announced a postponement of this decision until the South Korean Trade Commission in Malaysia has finalised its investigation. The final decision and a formal ruling will be made within the next 5 months.
