European Commission delays vote on anti-dumping tariffs for Chinese glass fibre imports
27/08/2010 12:00
The European Commission has delayed its decision on whether to impose anti-dumping tariffs on glass fibre imports from China. Originally, EU 27 member states representatives were supposed to cast their vote in writing on the proposed measures on 11 August. The date has now been moved to 26 August, when a hearing is to take place. According to the European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA, Brussels / Belgium; www.eucia.org), the delay was in part caused by industry efforts to prevent “the devastating impact” of such measures.
The European Commission had planned to introduce tariffs of up to 43.6% on glass fibre imports from China starting 17 September – see PIEWeb of 13.08.2010.
