The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has delayed its decision regarding a potential investigation into alleged circumvention of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on solar imports while it requests more information from petitioners.

The Trade Remedies Authorities of Vietnam has recommended domestic enterprises to prepare legal knowledge and resources to deal with potential lawsuits from export markets, particularly in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Although it has somewhat subsided in 2021, the development of trade remedy lawsuits in the following years is considered unpredictable, especially as Vietnam's economy is increasingly integrated into the world economy.

BlueScope Steel Ltd. and its wholly owned U.S. importer, BlueScope Steel Americas, said in a complaint Tuesday in the U.S. Court of International Trade that Commerce botched their final duty rate by refusing to deduct certain rebates and discounts from their home market sales.

The Government has extended the imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty on imports of Colour coated or pre-painted flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from China, and the European Union till 31st March, 2022.

The commerce ministry's fair trade watchdog Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended anti-dumping duty on decor paper imports from China. 

Vietnam has great opportunities to export rice, fruit and other agricultural products to the UK, one of the 10 largest markets in the world, with an annual food import turnover of more than US$65 billion.

Vietnam’s trade turnover in the first nine months of this year reached US$483.17 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24.4%, according to the General Statistics Office.
