The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has completed an anti-dumping investigation into high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) imported from China and the Republic of Korea, according to the MoIT’s Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

Although heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products in the past nine months was estimated at US$35.5 billion, up 17.7% over the same period in 2020.

Vietnam is expected to achieve its export target of 6.3 million tonnes of rice worth US$3.2 billion this year due to high global demand and an increase in export prices.

Vietnam's cashew nuts have accounted for approximately 90 percent of the US cashew imports in spite of fierce competition from other suppliers.

The Commission has adopted definitive anti-dumping measures on imports of aluminium flat-rolled products originating from China for a period of 5 years to counter unfair trading practices. 

Representatives of trade promotion agencies and business communities of India and three countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), namely Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, gathered at an online India-Mekong trade connection programme on October 11.

Vietnam’s exports in September fell 0.8% against the previous month but the figure for the first nine months of 2021 still rose 18.8% over the same period last year.
