(CN) - The Court of International Trade overturned portions of an antidumping duty imposed on Chinese producers and exporters of fresh garlic. Judge Ridgway said the U.S. government's calculations on "garlic bulb, ocean freight, packing cartons, and plastic jars, and its calculation of the applicable wage rate, cannot be sustained on the existing record."

European Union Imposes High Duties on Biodiesel

In early March, the European Commission announced that it would impose tariffs on European Union imports of biodiesel from U.S. producers. The new tariffs, which include both anti-subsidy and anti-dumping components and can reach as high as 69.9 percent of the value of the biodiesel, are imposed provisionally for six months but may be implemented for as long as five years.
