SteelOrbis - On April 5, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced that it has not made any changes in the final results of its antidumping duty (AD) administrative review for stainless steel sheet and strip in coils from Mexico responding to a timely-filed allegation from the respondents, ThyssenKrupp Mexinox S.A. de C.V. (Mexinox SA) and Mexinox USA, Inc. (Mexinox USA) (collectively referred to as Mexinox), that the department made ministerial errors with respect to the calculation of Mexinox's importer-specific assessment rate.

NIPPON KINZOKU CO. (TSE:5491) plans to boost production of stainless steel foil for solar cell panels to 70-80 tons per month in the April-June quarter, twice the volume of the January-March period. Output will be raised by increasing capacity utilization at the Itabashi, Tokyo, plant, where stainless steel sheet from major steel producers is further rolled to produce foil 0.02mm to 0.2mm thick that is used as a solar cell substrate.
