“If India still stops exporting, rice prices will continue to set new records, and if the country lifts the ban on rice exports, rice prices will fall. Entrepreneurs are cautious, but still seize the opportunity with short-term contracts, many businesses have signed contracts again "- Mr. Vu Tuan Anh said.
However, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoa emphasized that the current rice price is relatively unpredictable, so very few businesses sign long-term contracts.
“Both the seller and the buyer signed short-term contracts, the quantity is not high to explore the market, because it is not clear when India will stop the ban on rice exports. The price of rice in the world market depends greatly on this move of India."
The export price of rice is now increased by 10 USD/ton, accordingly, 5% broken rice is exported for 638 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is priced at 623 USD/ton, and jasmine rice is priced at 748 USD/ton. In 2023, the country's rice cultivation area is 1,7 million hectares, the output is expected to reach over 43,2 million tons, up 1,8-2% compared to 2022. In addition to ensuring food security in the country , processing, breeding and breeding, Vietnam has enough supply to export 7,5-8 million tons of rice this year.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu Cuong - Director of the Department of Crop Production - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development affirmed: The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed to increase the area of autumn-winter rice by 50 hectares compared to previous crops, helping Vietnam seize the opportunity to increase the amount of rice exported. this year, when world "demand" is high.
