Early-season Vietnamese lychees conquer US consumers

According to the Viet Nam Trade Office in the US, early-season Vietnamese lychees are increasingly winning over American consumers.
In early June 2026, the first two shipments of fresh Vietnamese lychees, totaling approximately 2 tons, were exported by air to Houston, Texas (USA).
Thanks to the fast shipping time, the product retains its freshness, color, and distinctive flavor, quickly attracting the attention of local distributors and consumers.
Lychees, along with many other fresh fruits from Viet Nam, are now available in major Asian supermarkets and markets in Houston and several other US states. According to C&T Produce Wholesale Inc., the importer and wholesale distributor of these fruits, many customers placed orders before the shipments even arrived at the airport, demonstrating the growing appeal of Vietnamese fruit in the US market.
Ms. Diem Chinh, representative of C&T Produce Wholesale Inc., stated that with nearly 25 years of experience importing and distributing food in the United States, she has observed that Vietnamese agricultural products are consistently highly regarded by Asian consumers due to their stable quality, diverse varieties, and distinctive flavors. This customer group also plays a crucial role in promoting the consumption of fresh Vietnamese fruit products in this market.
To support the deeper penetration of Vietnamese goods into the US market, the Viet Nam Trade Office in Houston and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Houston have actively implemented numerous trade promotion activities, connecting businesses and promoting products over the years. Through coordination with economic and trade associations, trade promotion organizations, and the local business community, many programs introducing products, connecting businesses, and finding partners have been effectively organized.
In addition to its networking role, the Viet Nam Trade Office in Houston regularly updates and provides businesses with information on US trade policies, import regulations, technical standards, and tariffs. Simultaneously, the office supports businesses in trade fairs, exhibitions, investment promotion, and business networking activities.
Notable activities include promoting Vietnamese goods at the annual Asian Bazaar in Houston, B2B business networking programs organized by US economic and trade associations, and numerous trade promotion activities coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, local authorities, and Vietnamese representative offices in the United States.
In line with the policy of diversifying export markets and enhancing the competitiveness of businesses, the Viet Nam Trade Office in Houston has also supported many industry associations, importers, and US businesses in conducting on-site surveys in Viet Nam and participating in major trade promotion programs such as Viet Nam International Sourcing (VIS). Through this, US partners have had the opportunity to directly access raw material sources, production facilities, and factories that meet standards, contributing to the formation of stable supply chains for Vietnamese goods.
According to importers, the Vietnamese business community in the United States is also playing an important bridging role, helping Vietnamese agricultural products gradually expand their presence in the local distribution system. This is considered an advantage that helps Vietnamese agricultural products, food, and fresh fruits continue to increase their market share in one of the world's largest consumer markets.
