Vietnam: Imposing an anti-dumping tax on cane sugar of many Thai companies

Many companies in the Thai sugar industry have been subject to anti-dumping and anti-subsidy taxes by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on cane sugar.
The Minister of Industry and Trade has just issued a decision to apply anti-dumping and anti-subsidy taxes to Mitr Phol Sugar Corp., Ltd. and 4 associates and Czarnikow Group Limited, Thai Roong Ruang Industry Co., Ltd and 5 associates on cane sugar products.
This decision is based on the results of the first review of the application of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures to a number of cane sugar products originating from the Kingdom of Thailand. This Decision takes effect from August 18, 2023, to June 15, 2026.
The anti-dumping tax rate with Mitr Phol Sugar Corp., Ltd. and 4 associates and Czarnikow Group Limited Company is 32.75%, anti-subsidy tax is 0%. As for the group of Thai Roong Ruang Industry Co., Ltd and 5 affiliated companies, the anti-dumping tax is 25.73%, and the anti-subsidy tax is 4.65%.
