The US Department of Commerce late Tuesday said it has finalized its antidumping duty or ADD on emulsion styrene butadiene rubber from Brazil, South Korea, Mexico and Poland.

The DOC imposed a preliminary antidumping duty on February 16 pending the outcome of its final determination.

Late Tuesday it announced that an ADD of 19.61% had been imposed on Arlanxeo Brasil, and "all other producers/exporters" from Brazil have been assigned the same tariff.

For South Korea, a 9.66% tariff was imposed on LG Chem and all other domestic producers except Daewoo International Corp. and Kumho Petrochemical, which did not participate in the ADD probe and received a tariff of 44.3%.

For Mexico, Industrias Negromex and other local producers received a tariff of 19.52% and for Poland, Synthos Dwory and other producers a tariff of 25.43%.

"As a result of the final affirmative determinations, Commerce will instruct US Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits based on these final rates," the DOC said.

The International Trade Commission is expected to make its final determination on August 24. If the ITC finds that the imports have affected the US domestic market, antidumping orders will be issued.

In 2016, the US imported 24,590 mt of ESBR from Brazil, 337 mt from South Korea, 17,099 mt from Mexico and 2,427 mt from Poland. The total value of the imports was $56.8 million, the ITC said.
