KYIV. Dec 1 (Interfax) - Ukraine has introduced an anti-dumping duty of 41.07% on imports of seamless stainless steel pipes of Chinese origin to Ukraine (foreign activity codes 7304 41 00 90, 7304 49 93 00 and 7304 49 95 00) for five years.
The corresponding decision of the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade of Ukraine dated November 27 this year was published in the Uriadovy Kurier newspaper on November 29 and will come into force 30 days after publication.
"The commission determined that the Chinese producers of seamless stainless steel pipes have a significant export potential, indicating the possibility of raising dumped exports to the market of Ukraine," reads the report.
The commission noted that the investigation was initiated on the complaint of PJSC Centravis Production Ukraine, whose socio-economic performance worsened in 2008 - the first half of 2013, when Ukraine imported Chinese pipes at prices lower than the cost of Ukrainian produce.
At the same time, the commission decided to accept the voluntary commitment of Zhejiang Longda Stainless Steel Co., Ltd to cease dumped imports of such pipes to Ukraine, therefore these measures will not be applied to this manufacturer.
