Statement on WTO decision regarding China’s anti-dumping duties on Canadian dissolving pulp

The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of International Trade, today issued the following statement on the World Trade Organization’s (WTO’s) panel decision regarding China’s anti-dumping duties on imports of Canadian dissolving pulp, an innovative forestry product used in clothing:
“This week, Canada obtained WTO confirmation that China’s anti-dumping investigation on Canadian dissolving pulp was not conducted in accordance with WTO rules. We are pleased with this ruling.
“The WTO panel ruled that China had failed to determine whether Canadian exports of dissolving pulp had caused injury to the Chinese domestic industry in a manner consistent with China’s WTO obligations.
“Canada thanks China for its cooperation in this matter as we work together to ensure the timely implementation of the WTO panel decision.”
