Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures

In the WTO, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) are compulsory conditions, standards and  requirements affecting international trade with a view to protecting the human, animal or plant life or health indirectly by ensuring food safety and/or preventing imported pests and diseases.
