Russian Federation recognizes Vietnam as a market economy

On July 6th 2007, in agreement to complete bilateral negotiation between Vietnam and Russian Federation on Russia’s WTO accession, Russian Federation recognized Vietnam as a market economy.
Agreement to complete bilateral negotiation between Vietnam and Russian Federation on Russia’s WTO accession was signed by both parties in the margin of APEC Trade Ministerial Meeting held in Australia on July 5th and 6th 2007. In this agreement, Vietnam also recognized Russia as a market economy.
Russia is the 12th country recognizing Vietnam as a market economy after China, ASEAN members, and South Africa.
