Provisional anti-dumping duty on 'O-Acid' imports from China

The Finance Ministry has imposed provisional anti-dumping duty on 'O-Acid' imports from China.
Ofloxacin Acid or O-Acid is an off-white to white crystalline powder and is used as an intermediate for the manufacture of Ofloxacin, which is used to treat infections including bronchitis, pneumonia and infections of the skin, bladder and prostrate.
Aarti Drugs Ltd, Mumbai had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping duty on O-Acid imports from China.
The provisional antidumping duty--which will be valid for six months--ranged from $ 0.03 per kilogram to $ 8.79 per kilogram depending on the producer and exporter.
