Practices of Safeguard investigation by the US

During the period 1995-2021, the US initiated a total of 13 safeguard investigations and imposed duties on 8 cases. Unlike anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures, the US's safeguard measures are relatively few in trade remedies.

Products subject to the US’s safeguard measures include: base metals and articles (2 cases); machinery and electrical equipment (2 cases); live animals and products (1 case); vegetable products (1 case); miscellaneous manufactured articles (1 case).
