Poland and Britain are teaming up in an effort to convince the European Commission to launch anti-dumping measures over cheap steel imports, Polish Development Minister and deputy PM Mateusz Morawiecki has said
"They [Britain] have an influx of vast amounts of steel at dumping prices from China, and we [have an influx of steel] from Belarus and Russia,” Morawiecki said on the sidelines of a London conference. “We are combining forces to convince the European Commission to initiate the appropriate measures," Morawiecki told reporters, adding that he was referring to the "initiation of an anti-dumping procedure." EU anti-dumping measures could result in the imposition of taxes on imports. Morawiecki was speaking on the sidelines of a London conference for institutional investors, organized by Poland’s PKO BP bank in cooperation with the Warsaw Stock Exchange, on the capital market in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe.
