Notice of consultation on Japan’s Quality Labeling Rules for Textile Goods

On December 20, 2016, Japan announced the Overview of Entire Revision to the Quality Labeling Rules for Textitle Goods such as trousers, pants, hats, muffler, scarf, shawl and blankets. Under the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT), the all members of the WTO, including Vietnam, can make comments on this revision when identifying the possibility of unnecessary trade’s obstacles.
Reasonable time allowed by Japan for other Members to make comments until 20/02/2017.
With respect to Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association are responsible for considering and assessing, making comments on the Draft.
Individuals, enterprises, and other relevant organizations can make comments, present difficulties on the Draft, especially in case of identifying any capable of unnecessary trade’s obstacles when exporting goods to Japan.
