The Government has introduced a new set of criteria for rating products enrolling in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Programme.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the launch of the second anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) expiry review on certain steel piling pipes originating in or exported from China.

The Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MCIT) made its final determination of the anti-dumping (AD) five-year review on non-stainless casing and production tubes originating in China, deciding to continue the imposition of the difference between the FOB base price of US$1,913.92/ton and the declared FOB price, provided that the latter is less than the base price.

In 2023, although difficulties are forecast, the shrimp industry in the whole country still sets a target of 750,000 ha of shrimp farming area, shrimp production of over 1 million tons (of which black tiger shrimp 280,000 tons, white leg shrimp 750,000 tons, the rest are giant freshwater shrimp and other shrimp) and export turnover of over 4.3 billion USD.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam's trade balance in February 2023 continued to have a surplus of USD 2.3 billion, bringing the total trade deficit in the first two months of the year to USD 2.82 billion (the same period last year, the trade deficit was more than USD300 million). However, in the first 2 months of 2023, export turnover of most commodity groups decreased, except for mineral fuels.

Trade remedial measures should be applied only when a competing domestic supplier is really threatened or closure looks imminent. Merely because WTO allows the use of TRMs doesn’t mean we must use them

Though there is ample room to boost the export of advantageous Vietnamese products to the ASEAN market, local firms are advised to utilise incentives through free trade agreements (FTAs) and improve products’ competitiveness in order to maintain growth to the market.

Vietnam was Spain's largest supplier of coffee (by volume) in 2022, with 113,550 tonnes worth 269 million EUR (287 million USD), up 21.6% in volume and 78.9% in value against 2021.
