With the expansion of land for growing durian across the country, agricultural experts believe Vietnam can earn US$3.5 billion from durian exports in 2024.

On August 12, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that the US Department of Commerce (DOC) published its final conclusion on the second sunset review of the anti-dumping duty order on wind towers with HS codes 7308.20.0020 and 8502.31.0000 imported from Vietnam.

The European Commission (EC) has recently issued a notice aimed at initiating an anti-dumping investigation into a number of hot-rolled steel products imported from Egypt, India, Japan, and Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

Exports to the US continue to grow and are expected to reach over US $100 billion in 2024. However, in addition to the growth in trade turnover between the two countries, the US currently has many barriers for Vietnamese export enterprises, typically trade defense measures.

Malaysia has started anti-dumping duty investigations on imports of polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, originating or exported from China and Indonesia, its trade ministry said on Friday.

China is currently one of the three largest export markets for Vietnamese agricultural products.

Exports in the first months of 2024 have many positive signs, however, businesses and export industries are still facing many challenges and increasing standards of consumers and markets.

The strong growth in exports during the first seven months of this year showed that the quality of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables has been improved to meet the export markets' requirements.
