US probe likely to 'harm' trade ties

EU, China and Vietnam in shoe trade shuffle

European Union Trade Commissioner Catherine Ashton has recommended that penalty taxes on Chinese and Vietnamese shoe imports into Europe be extended by 15 months. Since October 2006, the EU has applied the penalties in response to dumping, in effect acting as fines for China and Vietnam exporting goods below production cost.

(India) Duty on chemicals may pinch pockets

NEW DELHI: Prices of a variety of goods, such as automotive tyres and tubes, motor vehicle parts, outdoor furniture, surgical gloves and footwear, could go up if the government goes ahead with a proposal to levy anti-dumping duties on rubber chemicals from China and Korea.

Dumping, China, and penalties

Anti-dumping proceedings were initiated against China and Indonesia last week, alleging that companies from the two countries had been dumping tons of shiny, coated paper (the kind used in car brochures or annual reports) and that imports of the same grew by a whopping 40%. The anti-dumping petition itself seemed to be a massive effort, composed of four separate petitions totaling more than 2,000 pages.

Canada imposes provisional AD on Ukrainian plate

It is reported that the Canada Border Services Agency has made its preliminary determination of the dumping investigation, pursuant to the Special Import Measures Act with respect to certain carbon steel plate and high strength low alloy steel plate originating in or exported from Ukraine.

US to launch double anti-survey on China's seamless steel tubes
