LONDON — The European Union imposed 89 new trade barriers in 2009 and rounded off the year by prolonging tariffs on shoes from China and Vietnam, originally due to expire in 2008. The EU needs to understand that trade barriers limit growth and economic recovery — as well as harming its own companies and consumers.
Glass fibre products: EU launches investigation into Chinese imports

Alleging anti-dumping margins in excess of 50%, GlassFibre Europe (Brussels/Belgium; www.glassfibreeurope.eu) in December called for an investigation of Chinese imports of fibre glass products. The commission began the necessary proceedings on 17 December 2009. The products under investigation are chopped glass fibre strands of up to 50mm length, glass fibre rovings and mats made of continuous or discontinuous glass fibre filaments, mainly used as reinforcers.
Dumping probe against Chinese seamless tubes

Product under such investigation by other nations too.Stung by the steep spurt in import from China of seamless tubes, pipes and hollow profiles of iron, alloy or non-alloy steel (other than cast iron), whether hot finished or cold drawn or cold rolled, the Commerce Ministry has set off an anti-dumping probe, following a petition filed by domestic manufacturers alleging dumping.
