India has initiated an investigation on PP imports originating from South Korea, Taiwan and the US. According to a letter obtained by ChemOrbis that was sent to South Korea’s Embassy, India’s Department of Commerce had received “a fully documented application from the Indian Industry manufacturing polypropylene” that alleges that PP has been dumped from South Korea and has caused “injury” to the Indian Domestic Industry. According to an “Initiation Notification” dated February 10, 2010, Reliance Industries Ltd. on behalf of the domestic industry has filed the application for initiation of an Anti-Dumping Duty investigation concerning imports of ‘Polypropylene originating in or exported from South Korea, Taiwan and USA’ and the Department of Commerce has found sufficient evidence to launch the investigation.
