Govt slaps anti-dumping duty on nylon tyre cord

New Delhi, May 5 The government has imposed anti dumping duty on imports of nylon tyre cord to guard the domestic industry from cheap Chinese shipments.
India has also imposed anti-dumping duty on imports of thionyl chloride from the European Union.
The government imposed a variable anti-dumping duty on nylon tyre cord ranging between USD 1.24 and USD 176 per kilogram, while on thionyl chloride the duty ranged from USD 33 to USD 84 per tonne, Central Board of Customs and Excise said in its notification.
China has been exporting nylon tyre cord to India below their normal value, it said. Thionyl chloride was being shipped by the European Union members.
The two products on which duties were imposed were being dumped into India below their normal value, the notification said.
