BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- China has ended five years of anti-dumping measures on polyester chips and polyester fiber imports from the Republic of Korea, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The rule took effect on Feb. 3, a ministry announcement said, adding the measures had expired naturally after five years if no one filed an appeal.

In response to concerns from the domestic industry, China launched its anti-dumping investigation on Aug. 3, 2001, and decided to take temporary measures on Oct. 22, 2002.

In 2003, China leveled five years of punitive anti-dumping tariffs, ranging from two to 48 percent.

Polyester chips and fiber are used in making plastics and synthetic textiles.
