China announces White Paper on its food quality and food safety

According to Xinhua, China has just published its White Paper titled “The Situation of China's Food Safety Quality”.
The State Council Information Office of China released this book in order to emphasize that China’s Government always considers the improvement of the quality of food safety as a important role, builds and strengthens the system of supervising and controlling food safety, intensifies to build complete legislation and food safety standards, implements toughly the control and supervision of the quality of food safety, promotes actively international exchange and cooperation on food safety, as well as raises remarkably social awareness of food safety.
On July 20th, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Welfare of Japan confirmed that 99.42% of China’s exporting food was accepted by Japan, higher than the 99.38% of EU and 98.69% of the US.
White Paper, however, also admits that the minority of China’s food enterprises still cheat at doing business or lack responsibility when producing counterfeit and low-quality food.
