New Delhi, Mar 31 The government has imposed anti- dumping duties on the imports of Vitamin E from China and hexamine (a heating agent) from Iran to guard the domestic players from cheap imports.
The duty on Vitamin E and hexamine, imposed by the Central Board Of Excise and Customs was USD 25 per kilogram and USD 107 per tonne respectively, CBEC said in a notification today.
The decision to impose duty follows recommendations to this effects by the Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties.
The anti-dumping duty would be effective for a period of five years.
The Directorate General had earlier found that hexamine and Vitamin E were being imported from China and Iran respectively, below its normal value, which was causing material injury to the domestic industry.
Earlier, the government had imposed duty on several other products including yarns, fabrics, colour picture tubes, some aluminum products and chemicals.
