Ammonium nitrate from Viet Nam escapes Australia’s anti-dumping subsidy duties

The Australia’s Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) will not impose anti-subsidy duties on ammonium nitrate products imported from Viet Nam, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.
On May 30, the ADC issued a preliminary conclusion on an anti-dumping investigation into ammonium nitrate products imported from Lithuania and Viet Nam.
Accordingly, the products imported from Viet Nam accounted for a relatively small share of the Australian market. Hence, the application of anti-dumping measures did not create significant impacts on Australia's ammonium nitrate industry.
Specifically, ammonium nitrate products from Lithuania and Viet Nam account for around 0.8 percent and 0.2 percent of the market shares in Australia, respectively.
The ADC initiated an anti-dumping investigation into ammonium nitrate products imported from Chile, Lithuania, and Viet Nam on June 8, 2022.
Viet Nam started exporting ammonium nitrate to Australia in 2019.
In the 2019-2021 period, the annual export value of ammonium nitrate to Australia was US$2.56 million, US$ 12.13 million, and US$ 5.07 million./.
