USITC turns red eye on imports of narrow woven ribbons
16/08/2010 12:00
The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of narrow woven ribbons with woven selvedge that the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) has determined are subsidized from China and from China and Taiwan that Commerce has determined are sold in the United States at less than fair value.
Commissioners Charlotte R. Lane, Shara L. Aranoff, and Irving A. Williamson made affirmative determinations. Chairman Deanna Tanner Okun and Commissioner Daniel R. Pearson made negative determinations. Commissioner Dean A. Pinkert made an affirmative determination with respect to China and a negative determination with respect to Taiwan.
As a result of the USITC's affirmative determinations, Commerce will issue a countervailing duty order on imports of these products from China and antidumping duty orders on imports of these products from China and Taiwan.
The Commission's public report Narrow Woven Ribbons with Woven Selvedge from China and Taiwan (Investigation Nos. 701-TA-467 and 731-TA-1164-1165 (Final), USITC Publication 4180, August 2010) will contain the views of the Commissioners and information developed during the investigations.
Industry, says USITC.
