U.S. to end Special Safeguard against Chinese Tyres in September

Reportedly, the U.S. special safeguard measure on China-made tyres, started on September 11, 2009, will terminate on its expiry in September 2012 without any effort to extend it by the American industries and administrations.
As per American law, the interested parties can call for extension of the special safeguard half a year before its expiry date (by the end of March 2012).
In reality, however, neither the United Steel Workers nor President Obama requested by March the U.S. International Trade Commission to prolong the special safeguard.
