U.S. Firms Seek Antidumping on China Silica Bricks

On November 15, 2012, Utah Regractories Corporation, on behalf of American industry of Silica Bricks and Shapes, petitioned U.S. Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission to conduct an antidumping investigation into the silica bricks from China under American HS Code 6902.20.10.20.
According to the written petition, those imports from China reached USD 16.15 million, 6.35 million and 33.49 million in 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively.
Expectedly, on December 5, 2012, the U.S. Commerce Department will decide whether to probe the case.
