On August 13th 2010, the US Department of Commerce announced in the Federal Register the preliminary results in the antidumping duty investigation of imports of stainless steel sheet and strip in coils from Taiwan.

The investigation looking into 20 companies, covered the period from July 1st 2008 through June 30th 2009. Chia Far Industrial Factory Co Limited is deemed to be the mandatory respondent by the DOC and received a dumping margin of zero.

US DOC determined a margin of 4.3% for the respondents, Chain Chon Industrial Co Limited, Chien Shing Stainless, Dah Shi Metal Industrial Co Limited, Goang Jau Shing Enterprise Co Limited, KNS Enterprise Co Limited, Lih Chan Steel Co Limited, Maytun International Corp, PFP Taiwan Co Limited, Shih Yuan Stainless Steel Enterprise Co Limited, Ta Chen Stainless Pipe Co Limited, Tang Eng Iron Works, Tibest International Inc, Tung Mung Development Co Limited, Ta Chen Stainless Pipe Co Limited, Waterson Corp, Yieh Loong Enterprise Co Limited, Yieh Mau Corp, Yieh Trading Corp and Yieh United Steel Corporation.

China Steel Corporation is found to have no shipments into the US of the product in question during the period of review.

US DOC has also rescinded the review with respect to Emerdex Group, Emerdex Stainless Flat Rolled Products Inc and Emerdex Stainless Steel Inc.

The petitioners for this investigation are: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation, AK Steel Corporation, North American Stainless, United Auto Workers Local 3303, United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO/CLC, and Zanesville Armco Independent Organization.
