Upholstered seating – Canada investigates anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures

On December 21, 2020, The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation (AD) and anti-subsidy (CVD) investigation for Upholstered seating for domestic purposes originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
Relevant information:
1. Initiated date: December 21, 2020;
2. Products under investigation: Upholstered seating for domestic purposes – HS Code: 9401.40; 9401.61 and 9401.71;
3. Investigation period: June 1, 2019 to November 30, 2020
4. Preliminary decision:
Canada decided to impose anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties against Vietnamese producer since 05 May 2021. Anti-subsidy duties rates against Vietnamese producer are ranging from 0% to 11,73% while provisional anti-dumping rates were set at 17,44% to 89,77%.
