Ukraine starts antidumping investigation into imports of citric acid from China

The interagency commission for international trade on January 23, 2012 launched an antidumping investigation into imports of citric acid from China to Ukraine.
The commission's announcement was published in the Uriadovy Kurier newspaper on Friday.
According to the report, the antidumping investigation was opened under a claim of the Smila sugar refinery (Cherkasy region), which produced of 50% of the citric acid made in Ukraine from the fourth quarter of 2010 to the third quarter of 2011.
The commission believes that in the fourth quarter 2010 through the third quarter of 2011 citric acid from China was imported at dumping prices and conditions that could do harm to Ukrainian producers.
