KYIV, Jan. 29, 2012 (UBO/Ukrainian News) – The Intergovernmental Commission for International Trade has imposed an antidumping duty of 9.4 - 57.91 percent on methanol import from Russia until March 2017, the commission said in a news release.

The commission examined the survey the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade conducted based on an antidumping investigation into imports of methanol from Russia, and came to the conclusion that during the period of investigation (2009) a number of companies had provided dumping supplies to the Ukrainian market, while others did not, the press-release said.

The Commission found that Nevinnomysskyi Azot (Stavropol krai, Russia), Novomoskovsk-based Azot joint stock company (Moscow, Russia) and EuroChem Mineral and Chemical Company (Moscow, Russia) had not delivered methanol to Ukraine at dumping prices and thus, are entitled to a zero antidumping duty.

At the same time, the Commission stressed that the Shchekinoazot company (Tula region, Russia) and other exporters had dumped on the Ukrainian market.

Consequently, the Intergovernmental Commission for International Trade has set an antidumping duty at 9.4 percent for Shchekinoazot, and 57.91 percent for other exporters.

The Commission’s decision on anti-dumping measures is to be imposed for five years with the decision coming into effect 30 days after publication in the Uriadovyi Kurier newspaper on January 27.

The initiator of the investigation was a large producer of ammonium and nitrogen fertilizers, Siverskodonetsk Azot Association, located in Luhansk region.
