On Nov. 5, 2010, the EU initiated an anti-dumping mid-term review investigation into the coumarin from China.
According to the Announcement of the European Commission, the only manufacturer of coumarin in the EU decided to end its production at the end of Aug. 2010, thus the industrial situation in the EU changed greatly.
Soon afterwards, the European industry proposed an application to check the necessity of the existing anti-dumping measures. Therefore, the European Commission decided to initiate the investigation according to law.
