Taiwan's China Steel Corp. has made an official request to the island’s Ministry of Finance to impose anti-dumping duties of between 20 and 50 percent on steel imports from several countries, including mainland China, the Economic Daily News reported Wednesday, without providing a source.
The company accused steelmakers in South Korea, Japan, India and China of selling their products in Taiwan at below market prices, the report said.
An unnamed ministry official was quoted as saying a decision on whether or not an investigation will be conducted will be made within 40 days.
