PET films: Review of anti-dumping duty on Indian goods
04/02/2009 12:00
Following a regular review of anti-dumping measures, the European Commission has revised its plans for countervailing duties on PET films imported from India. Some companies have been exempted entirely from payment of punitive duty and the EC has imposed far higher duty payments on four Indian producers: Ester Industries (22.1%), MTZ Polyfilms (18%), Garware Polyester (14.7%) and SRF (10.1%).
The original review in 1999 resulted in duties varying between 3.5% and 18%. A European council regulation was introduced in 2000, which was followed by further sanctions in 2004.
