Okoumé plywood duties under scrutiny
27/11/2009 12:00
Traders have until December 21 to express their views on a European Commission review of anti-dumping duty measures on Chinese okoumé plywood.
The expiry and partial interim review will take up to 15 months, during which the duties will remain in place.
Under review is Chinese plywood with at least one outer ply of okoumé, not coated be a permanent film.
The European Federation of the Plywood Industry requested the review on behalf of plywood manufacturers who represent more than 40% of European production of okoumé plywood.
The federation believes expiry of duties would result in a continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury to European plywood producers.
