Program Aims to Help SMEs Win Power Market Orders Korea Western Power Opens Export Hub ‘Seohaero’ in Viet Nam
Korea Western Power Co., Ltd. is establishing a local hub and actively supporting the development of sales channels to help partner small and medium-sized enterprises enter the Vietnamese market.
Korea Western Power held export support events for two days on July 9 and July 10 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Viet Nam, to lay the foundation for partner small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the local market.
Korea Western Power held the opening ceremony for the export support center ‘Seohaero (Western Family’s Green Avenue for Overseas Export)’ in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, on July 9. The event was attended by officials from the KOTRA Ho Chi Minh City Trade Center, 7 partner small and medium-sized enterprises, and local partner companies.
The export support center ‘Seohaero’ boasts excellent accessibility, located a 30-minute drive from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Viet Nam. The center plans to provide shared offices and meeting rooms to tenant companies, comprehensively supporting essential infrastructure for local sales activities, including interpretation and vehicle support.
Subsequently, a promotional briefing session for the equipment and materials of partner small and medium-sized enterprises was held at the Nghi Son 2 Power Plant in Hanoi on July 10. The Nghi Son 2 Power Plant is a strategic foothold with an installed capacity of 1200MW, operated with a 50% equity investment by Korea Electric Power Corporation.
The 7 partner companies participating in the briefing, including Dongwon AHE, Jaon, and Pomit, introduced their products and technological capabilities to local power plant purchasing managers. The companies achieved the outcome of discussing practical cooperation measures while simultaneously identifying local requirements and sharing specific order plans.
Using the opening of the center and the briefing session as an opportunity, Korea Western Power will strengthen follow-up management so that partner companies can stably settle into the Vietnamese market. The company plans to continuously support technical supplementation and localized marketing so that the consultation details can lead to actual contracts.
Lee Jung-bok, President of Korea Western Power, emphasized, “The Viet Nam export support center will become a practical bridgehead for partner small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the local power generation market,” adding, “We will continue to actively support our partner companies so they can secure self-sustainability overseas through the sharing of order information and the expansion of networks.”
