Industry Ministry to provide update on the state of cement

Industry, Investment and Commerce Minister, Karl Samuda is to provide an update on the state of cement in the island.
Mr Samuda has called a press briefing at his Ministry’s office for 10:00 a.m.
He’s expected to speak on Jamaica’s application to CARICOM’s trade body, the Council for Trade and Economic Development, for an extension of a waiver on the importation of cement.
Mr Samuda is also expected to address the complaint filed by Carib Cement to the Antidumping & Subsidies Commission over claims of unfair trading of cement in Jamaica.
