EU removes anti-dumping measures applicable to Ammonium Nitrate imports originating in Ukraine
20/06/2012 12:00
The European Union has made a notification on expiry of the anti-dumping measure applicable to imports of ammonium nitrate (AN) from Ukraine on 17th June 2012. This expiry is due to the particular positive business scene experienced in the EU and other markets over year 2011 and first quarter 2012.
The EU industry maintains the capability to produce original trade defense cases very quickly with well-established monitoring statistical systems and trade defense expertise. The EU industry intends to immediately correct any unfair and damaging import activity whatever the origin of the products.
The EU industry and Commission authorities are especially alert to the prospect of Russian AN material being declared as Ukrainian in order to avoid the payment of the EU anti-dumping duty of Euro 47/MT on AN imports from Russia.
The EU measures applied to Ukraine were a Euro 33/MT anti-dumping duty and an undertaking agreed between the European Commission and JSC Cherkassy.
