BRUSSELS, July 27 (UPI) -- The European Union said Monday that it would slap Chinese steel exporters with a punitive anti-dumping duty for the next five years.
The agreement to allow a duty of up to 24 percent on Chinese steel wire rods passed without discussion, Xinhua, China's state-run news agency, reported.
Temporary duties had been put into effect in February after European companies complained the Chinese were selling steel at below market prices, Xinhua reported.
