EU: Draft Regulation proposing an anti-dumping duty on imports of tungsten carbide from China – COM (2011) 87 final
07/03/2011 12:00
Proposal for a Council Regulation imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tungsten carbide, tungsten carbide simply mixed with metallic powder and fused tungsten carbide originating in China following an expiry review pursuant to Article 11(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1225/2009
This proposal concerns the application of Council Regulation (EC) No 1225/2009 on protection against dumped imports from countries not members of the European Community. On 30 December 2009, the Commission announced the initiation of an expiry review of the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of tungsten carbide and fused tungsten carbide originating in China introduced by Regulation (EEC) No 2737/90 and amendments to it. The review was initiated following a request from the European Association of Metals (Eurometaux). The investigation found continuing dumping of the product concerned, which, should anti-dumping measures be lifted, would result in the recurrence of injury to the Union industry. If adopted, this Regulation would therefore impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tungsten carbide, tungsten carbide simply mixed with metallic powder and fused tungsten carbide currently falling within CN codes 2849 90 30 and ex 3824 30 0022 and originating in China. The rate of duty would be 33%.
