Duties on Chinese goods to be set

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Commerce is starting its next administrative review process of Chinese wood bedroom furniture producers.

During the review, which covers calendar year 2008, interested parties will be able to submit names of Chinese bedroom producers they believe should have their import duty for that year reviewed.

The duties stem from a 2004 antidumping investigation into Chinese-made bedroom furniture, which U.S. producers successfully argued had been priced below normal market values. Duties assigned to each Chinese manufacturer are paid by the importer of record.

Interested parties have until the end of January to request a review of any producer.
