The U.S. Department of Commerce initiated on Tuesday a new shipper review of wood bedroom furniture shipments to the United States from Chinese manufacturer Shanghai Fangjia covering the period Jan. 1-June 30, 2008.
The manufacturer, which said it purchased all the subject merchandise it exported from Jiangsu Danyang Brilliant Furniture Co. Ltd., requested the review July 11. Shanghai Fangjia also certified that it did not export wooden bedroom furniture to the United States during the period of original antidumping investigation; and that, since the initiation of the investigation, it has not been affiliated with any exporter or producer who exported wooden bedroom furniture to the United States during the period of investigation, including those not individually examined during the investigation.
DOC intend to issue preliminary results of the new shipper review within six months, and final results of these reviews no later than 90 days from the date of the preliminary results, unless extended.
Importers of wooden bedroom furniture manufactured by Brilliant Furniture and exported by Shanghai Fangjia must continue to post a cash deposit of estimated antidumping duties on each entry of subject merchandise at the current PRC-wide rate of 216.01 percent.
