Chinese Ceramics Enterprises Faced with EU Punitive Tariffs

The anti-dumping case involved more than USD 300 million, the enterprises involved almost covered all the famous ceramic enterprises in China, 70% of which came from Foshan ceramics enterprises.
In the official announcement of the EU, no Chinese enterprises obtained market economy status, but 3 Chinese ceramics enterprises got separate treatment, including Guangdong Xinruncheng Ceramics Co., Ltd., Shandong Yadi Ceramics Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Wonderful Ceramics Co., Ltd. with their duty rates of 35.5%, 36.6%, and 26.2% respectively; duty rates for other cooperative enterprises shall be 32.3%; and the national general duty rate of 73% shall apply to the remaining ceramic enterprises.
It is reported that the provisional tariff shall be implemented for half a year starting from March 17, 2011 to September 16, 2011, during which after a series of procedures like no damage counterargument and hearing, the EU will ultimately decide whether to impose a formal anti-dumping duty for a period of 5 years on September 17, 2011.
