China to take countervailing activities against US

China continued to take the retaliatory actions against claims over safety of China sourced products.
Beijing has recently rejected and disposed medical adjuvant and raisin consignments from the US, claiming that these consignment has been bacteria –infected and SO2- contaminated.
General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) of China did not reveal any information about the quality testing process but stated unclearly that “these products did not meet Chinese food safety standards”. The US businesses and food safety experts claimed that this is actually a political move of Beijing Administration.
However, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that it would carry out inspections in the products declined by China. In recent time, the US has also put a ban on importing a wide range of China’s food and consumer products including fish, eel, fruit juice, toothpaste because of containing poisonous chemicals that threaten consumers’ health.
